What Are You Thinking

What Are You Thinking?

April 12, 20261 min read

Recently, a person was wondering what another person thought about a certain matter. (The details are not the point here.)

The conversation went something like this.

I asked, “How can you know what they are thinking?”

They responded with, “I know what I am thinking, but I just do not know what they are thinking.” (Then they proceeded to outline their thoughts.) “But I just don’t know what they are thinking about it.”

I asked again, “How can you know what they are thinking?”

“I don’t know.” they said.

“I think you do know how to find out.”, I stated.

The person then turned to the other person who had observed the entire conversation and asked them what they thought about the matter. Sometimes the obvious way of finding out answers to questions are right there, but ignored.

What’s the point, you may be thinking and asking? The point is if we want to know what God says or thinks about something, we must go to the source. We can know what He says about all things if we will read and study His Holy Word.

No one should presume to know something about God without being able to read it and clearly see the answer.

At times, some have decided something about God or spirituality and then sought out scripture to back up their view. Instead, we should simply go to His Word, the Bible, and take it for what it says, not what a person might desire for it to say.

God’s Word is readable, relatable, and reasonable to most everyone. May we all seek to know what God desires for us to know. Then may we all trust in His Word to guide our lives in a right relationship with HIm now and for all eternity.
