Missed opportunities happen every day. We may not take advantage of an opportunity and then feel regret and remorse for our lack of action. Missing an opportunity can happen for many reasons. Perhaps, the timing is off. Maybe the opportunity is not seen for what it is at first. There may even be a poor judgment made or it may simply be overlooked.
One thing that should not happen is missing an opportunity to serve the Lord when it is presented to a Christian. Desiring to serve is a hallmark attribute that Christians are to nurture and foster within their lives.
Praying for opportunities and then not being ready to seize them as God makes them available ought not to happen. The Bible is full of faithful examples for us to follow. Whether we look to the faith of Noah, Abraham, Ruth, David, or Joseph. We can see that they were given opportunities and they seized them. The opportunities were not always a pleasant situation, but the opportunity to show their faith was performed.
Each day opportunities will be presented to each of us. May we see them and act upon them to bring glory to God (Matthew 5:14-16). May we make the most of our time here on earth (Ephesians 5:15-16; Galatians 6:10).
Tonight, February 22, 2026, all of us at Pacific have an opportunity to encourage our Hispanic brethren. The Iglesia de Christo has invited us to join their class and worship time tonight.
Many have signed up to go. If you have not, please consider going. You will be encouraged and encouraging to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. May we all seek to glorify God in this manner.
