A person’s perspective on life can and often does change when circumstances or situations happen. Some people seem to base their life on how things are going for them. Might I suggest that the person who can truly live their life for the Lord will not allow circumstances or situations to dictate their behavior.
What do I mean by that? When a person is truly grounded in their faith in Christ, everything is viewed through that lens, that perspective. They use their faith to make choices, they do not allow their emotions to be swept up in a situation or circumstance.
This may seem contradictory to how some people view the world and their life. Jesus taught this in Matthew 6 that life is more about the things of this world, such as what we eat or the clothes we wear.
Worrying about external things is not what a faithful Christian is to do. Jesus gives the answer to that viewpoint. He said to seek (pursue) first His kingdom and His righteousness. A Christian is to put their faith and trust in God through Jesus. This changes a person’s perspective from a worldly one into a spiritual one. A perspective that is focused on things above, on the things of God in Christ (Colossians 3:1-3).
May all of us seek God first and view things through a biblical, heavenly, and spiritual lens. Striving to let our let shine before others so they may glorify our Heavenly Father (Matthew 5:16).
