The Lord's Church

There may be nothing more compelling than knowing that you are loved and have a sense of belonging. This aspect of living is accomplished by each of us in some way. The drive to feel like a person matters may be sought in the wrong way and the wrong places. In life a person may just want to feel like they matter to someone and how they achieve that may actually be very destructive to them in multiple ways.

The best place to know you are loved and belong is found in the Lord’s church. The God of Heaven has had a plan for all mankind to be blessed in the church that Jesus came to die for, purchasing the church with His precious and pure shed blood on the cross (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 1:19). When a person realizes the great sacrifice Jesus made for them and that without Him there is no forgiveness of sin, then a choice can be made to be obedient to Him in love (John 14:15; 1 John 5:3).

Obeying the gospel allows the Lord Jesus to add you to His church (Acts 2:47). This places a person in the household of God and into the Lord’s body (1 Timothy 3:15; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13). One must hear the message (Romans 10:17), believe in Jesus (John 8:24), be willing to repent/change their lifestyle (Acts 17:30-31; Luke 13:3), confess that Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 8:36-38; Matthew 10:32-33), be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16), and begin living a faithful life for and in Him (Revelation 2:10; Romans 6:17-18).

If a person is willing to come to the Lord for salvation, then they will know the best way to feel loved and have a sense of belonging that can ever be. Faithful fellow Christians will embrace and encourage them like no other group of people can or will. May all Christians seek to share the good news and then embrace those who obey the message in the best way.
