A person may have times when they feel like life is very busy. There is always something that has to be done. The thought of who will do this if I do not may be foremost in their mind. So, they get busy and just seem to stay busy most of the time.
Granted there is always much to do in everyone’s life. The holiday season here in the USA seems to exemplify the busyness of life even more than normal. There are plans to be made, logistics of where a person will spend the holidays. Will there be multiple celebrations? Dinners? Parties? Not to mention the shopping. Then there are the holiday traditions that are desired to be done each year.
If we are not careful, being mindful of spiritual things may take a backseat during the hustle and bustle of the season. The world will have us focus on being consumers and taking time to be with family. Neither of those things are wrong, but they should not take precedence over honoring God and remembering the great sacrifice He made in sending His only begotten Son to this earth to live and die as a man. His death, His shed blood, was the price required for mankind to have the ability of having our sins forgiven.
Have a great holiday season. Spend time with your family, do the shopping and run around. Also, Please take time every day, not just this time of year, to be grateful and honor the God who created you and loves you. The God of heaven desires for everyone to have the great blessings of life, more importantly, He desires for you to have the salvation He offers through Jesus.
May we all spend time in His Word, the Bible, reading and studying what He desires for us to know and do. May we also spend time in prayer to Him, He wants to hear from His children. May we truly realize that all the earthly treasure, all the nice gifts, all that we know here will one day be gone. We will stand before the judgment seat with what we brought into this world. Please treasure the things above most of all. May God bless us all as He sees best.
