Wow, the weeks just fly by. Each one has its unique challenges and responsibilities. Some things are somewhat the same or happen at the same time each week. Then other things are not the same. Then there are things that only happen occasionally. When we have exceptions that are pleasant, things that happen we like, life is good.
However, this is not always the case. There will be times that are difficult, trying, and downright most unpleasant. When this happens, we may not think that time is moving very fast, but the reality is that time is constant.
Each second ticks by into minutes, each minute into hours, each hour into days, each day into weeks, each week into months, and each month into a year.
What’s the point? We may look at time as something that just happens, however, as Christians we ought to take a different view. Instead of saying that time stands still for no one, or that time just keeps on going by, we ought to say that with God our time can be used wisely.
As 2025 wound down, some of you made some specific goals to focus on for 2026. This article is being written for the January 18th bulletin. How are you doing on your goals so far?
Take a moment and reflect on how you have either focused on them or need to refocus. Each of us can make goals. If we are not careful, we may lose focus and not strive to achieve them. Prayerfully consider how you are doing and if you included God in your plans.
James chapter 4 teaches us that we should not boast of our plans and leave God out of them. We do not know the future, but with His guidance and help we can put one foot forward toward it each day. May each of us not take time given to us for granted and include God in all of our plans and lives.
