Historical Events

There are a lot of events that have happened that have impacted the lives of many. Recently, the twenty-fifth anniversary of 9/11/2001 occurred. Any person who remembers it well, can relate to you where they were and what they were doing when they first heard or saw it unfold on a screen.

The lives of Americans were changed immediately and in some ways are still affected by that day. The Bible teaches Christians to pray for our enemies. Christians are also taught to pray for those in authority. That day many prayers were offered for the situation, for the leaders, and for the families who lost loved ones.

When Jesus was crucified, the world of Jerusalem was deeply impacted. The whole world was impacted, although many would not know of the impact until later.

In Luke we can read of the account of Jesus walking on the road to Emmaus with two men. He hears them speaking of the events surrounding His death. He asks about it. They express surprise that He did not know about the events. He reveals who He is and explains the scriptures to them that it was all necessary.

If you were old enough to understand the events of 9/11 you will not forget about it. If you have not heard about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, may that happen soon. Your life will be more impacted than you can imagine. You can have the forgiveness of sin and stand right before the God of Heaven. May you choose to know and always remember the Lord Jesus and His sacrifice.
