Feeding The Many

Jesus is the great example for all of His followers to learn about how to treat others. On many occasions Jesus healed people, taught people, and there are two recorded times that He fed them.

For over a month now the Pacific congregation has been advertising about a food giveaway. Yesterday was the day that it happened. A group of our members assembled some grocery bags filled with supplies to help them make some meals for themselves and their families.

Along with that, the people were given some information about our congregation, invited to services, and prayers were given on their behalf. Jesus' motivation for helping others was to bring glory to His Heavenly Father and that was the same motivation for those who helped yesterday (Matthew 5:14-16).

Christians are to let their light shine before men, that was the goal. Even though the emphasis was helping a physical need, another objective was to hopefully touch someone’s life with the love of God in Christ.

Perhaps, some soul will choose to visit us here at the Pacific church of Christ because of the outreach.

Please pray for this effort to bear fruit for the kingdom.

May we all seek ways to bring more glory to God and share His love in our lives more and more.
