Faith Focused Father

Faith Focused Father

When I was growing up, Father’s Day meant something completely different to me. I loved my father.

He meant, and still means, a lot to me. He taught me so very much. He taught more by example, than in daily words. He also taught me from the pulpit. I am grateful for him.

When I became a father. I wanted to be the type that imparted the love of God in Christ to them. I was scared to death when our first child was born. We waited to have kids. In fact, we were nine years into our marriage when our first was born. I relished the role of being a dad.

I wanted my children to know that I was there for them in all the ways I could be.

More than anything, like my father before me, I wanted my children to know the Lord and desire to become a follower of Him. That was the most important thing to focus on as they grew up. The emphasis that was placed on serving others in Christ was intentional.

I am proud of my children. They are indeed Christians today. Not just because I was taught by my father to be one. Not just because I helped to teach them to be one. No. The real reason is because they came to know the best Father. Their Heavenly Father.

No matter what type of physical father you may have or had, you can also come to know the Heavenly Father and become a child of His through Jesus the Christ. Please study to know how this happens.

Happy Father’s Day to all those who are blessed to be one.
