Do You Go To Church?

So many ways to measure life in a culture. People are measured by how big a family they have, what type of house they live in, what type of job, how many cars they have, what level of education they achieved, how much income they have, whether they live in a rural or urban area, and the list goes on and on.

Recently there was an article online about 25 interesting facts determined in 2025. The article noted a lot of things. One of those was how each generation, Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z (Zoomers) were attending or not attending church services.

38% of Zoomers never attended. That may or may not surprise you. The Boomers were attending weekly at 33%, which was the highest. Each generation was measured as not attending, yearly, monthly and weekly. See the complete article here:

Why is this important? The chart shows a trend, but does not tell the whole story. There is a thought that the pendulum from not being religions is swinging back to being more religious. This chart may not see that as being prevalent. However, this does not take into account all factors. Such as where the survey was taken, how it was taken and what time of year it was taken. There is also the fact that this is across all religions that exist in the USA. So, this may or may not hold true in the Lord’s church.

The idea of each generation's need to be faithful is not new. The Bible teaches us that one generation of the Children of Israel would be faithful only to have the next one not be at all. This fact brings to us the lesson of teaching and raising the next generation to be what God would have them to be.

Honoring God in your generation is a crucial aspect to remember and to practice. Otherwise, the next generation may suffer unfaithfulness. Each of us individually have a responsibility to model what a faithful Christian should be daily. Helping the next generation to be faithful is a huge responsibility and should not be taken lightly or disregarded. Without a proper example to follow the next generation may be found to be lacking in the sight of God. May all Christians do their best to avoid that and pray to the Father that it not happen at all.
