Change of Seasons
Every season brings with it certain elements that the other seasons do not possess on a regular basis. The summer brings more warmth and longer days. (And that is when the majority of baseball takes place :-).) The spring finds plants and creatures coming out of dormancy or hibernation, new life is seen. Autumn months are the time for harvest and the days getting shorter, the plants prepare for winter.
Winter brings much colder temperatures and the rain becomes snow and ice as it falls from the sky.
There are times when the roads make it difficult to navigate and get places. For some of us that is what happened last weekend (01/24-25/2026). There was a time in my younger years when I would have braved any condition of the road to get some place. Now, that feeling is gone. Now, my mind turns to what could happen and being stranded on the roadside somewhere. Some of those thoughts come from living in a rural setting. The roads do not get cleared quickly where I live.
The God of heaven had set all these seasons in motion at creation. His earth was made for mankind to inhabit. The seasons all have their purpose. Some people live where they do not experience all of them, but they have different types of things happen annually. Some have rainy and dry seasons, but all places function as God has decreed.
Christians are to think positively and look for the blessings they have each day. Things could always be different. May we each count our blessings. Please pray for those who have to get out in this weather.
There are many that work to maintain our electricity, our natural gas, clearing the roads after a winter storm, and those who are first responders. Also, pray for those who may not have the warmth of shelter during the winter. Pray for those who are struggling to put food on the table. Pray that God will continue to bless all of us with His providential care.
