As Time Passes By

Each day brings us closer to another end of a week, each week the end of a month, each month the end of a year. When God brought time into existence, man has measured and numbered life. We keep track of where we are to be and a lot of what we need to do. We depend on some way of tracking time.

When we look back on life, we often say it goes by so fast. Most people have said that or at least thought about it. Many a sermon has pointed out the scriptures that speak of life being short and that we are not guaranteed a certain amount of time.

Knowing this is the easy part. Now what are each of us doing with our lives? Each of us have a certain amount of heartbeats or breaths and then this life will be over. Or we will be here when Jesus returns and our time here will end in that manner.

Each moment brings our time here closer to ending. Instead of thinking that life is short, why not consider that eternity does not end? That is a fact that should not be ignored. Since that is the case, how we spend our time here matters.

If we are wasting our time here, then eternity will be spent in a most horrible way. Realizing this fact ought to inspire us to live for the Lord even more faithfully each day we have remaining.

Keep track of where you need to be while here, but also remain steadfast in faithful service to the Lord so that you can spend eternity with Him. May we all be what He desires for us to be, making the most of the time Hehas blessed us to have.
